St John Vianney's Golden Jubilee - A Review -
Friday, May 08, 2009
St John Vianney Church celebrated its Golden Jubilee.
There was Mass at 7.30 p.m. followed by a buffet in the hall.
Archbishop Kevin was Principal Celebrant, assisted by present and past Parish Priests Fr Michael and Fr David. There were two deacons and six other Deanery priests concelebrating. There were also non-catholic clergy representing Churches Together in Bexleyheath. Local dignitaries included our M.P. (David Evenett) and Mayor (Cllr Nick O'Hare). The Builder of the Church, Mr Butler, also attended. Some of the parishoners from 50 years ago attended by invitation, these included those who have remained in the parish as well as those who have moved away in the last 50 years. The Mass was open to all and over 200 people turned up.

Annual Parish Mass & Shared Lunch - A Review -
Sunday, May 09, 2010
Following the success of last year's Golden Jubilee celebrations, the Parish Council suggested having an Annual Parish Mass and Shared Lunch on the nearest Sunday to the Anniversary of the opening of the present Church (8 May 1959).
This year's Mass and Shared Lunch took place at 11.00am on Sunday 9 May 2010.
The following review is taken from the Newsletter of 16 May 2010:
Thanks to everyone who took part in last Sunday’s Mass and helped with the shared lunch. Despite the weather I think that everyone enjoyed the experience.

Congratulations to all the young people who were confirmed
on Thursday: Alesha Bergamo, Jack Bird, Eimile Boyle,
Alex Brown, Enzo Daghini, Zara D’Costa, Rebecca De Souza, Oliver Flewitt, Victoria Geddis, Charlotte Harris, Rosie Lintott, Rachel Lobo, Charlotte Maycock, Jessica Noble,
Andrew Rodrigues, Olivia Salvati and Bethany Warren.
It was a lovely evening with the sun shining into the church as we processed in. The young people read and behaved beautifully. As usual Bishop Pat put everyone at their ease and preached a great homily. It was a very prayerful and joyful celebration. Thanks to our musicians, servers, ushers and those who prepared the church. Special thanks go to Lyn our leading catechist and to her assistants Jacqui and Brenda and of course to Jean the maker of hot chocolate. Fr. Michael thanks the candidates and their families for their kind gift.
